Saints seek #2 seed in NFC playoffs

Sundays  afternoons matchup featuring the Tennessee Titan who played host to a Saints team who cruised into last week in position to clinch a playoff berth with the victory.  The Titans attempt to pull off the upset was foiled when their quarter back was sacked in the red zone as time expired. The Saints bend but don't break defense did enough to secure the win for the team even though their usually prolific scoring offense lead be Drew Bree's was held below their season average for points per game. The win gives the Saints a two game lead over the division rival dirty birds as the regular season draws to a close.  In the closing weeks of the season the two bitter rivals look forward to the Monday Night Football Christmas showdown that will affect the playoff seeding in a major way. If the Saints are able to sweep the Atlanta Falcons it all but ensures them a division championship and a shot at the coveted first round bye. Recapturing the title after losing it to the Falcons last season. The loss forced the Saints into a first round road game where the heavily favored Saints where ambushed by a red hot Seahawks team. Who got the benefit of the draw by winning their division with a win percentage close to .500. The fans and atmosphere in the Seattle's Quest field proved to be to much for the football Saints to overcome. The New Orleans franchise even began players only practices during the owner's lock out in anticipation of this years schedule.  The offense is as potent as the NFL has ever been witness to. Through week 14 the Saints offense has set the pace for the rest of the league. The addition of some rookies and a few key free agents have the bless you boys poised to make a lot of noise in the second season. The rookies Ingram and Graham bring a dimension to the Saints offense never before seen in the crescent city. Graham with 80 receptions and 8 touchdowns has set the record for tight ends with the Saints in just 13 games. If the Saints had known about the superstars rookie potential at the beginning of the season theres no way the Green Bay Packers defense could have stopped the Saints from scoring on the final drive of the season opener, where the saints came up short a lot like the Titans this time.  The Saints where stopped short of a goal line touchdown that would have given the saints an opportunity for a two point conversion to tie the game and take it into overtime. Instead the ball carrier was stopped short and the Packers haven't lost a game in the regular season.      That says to me that the playoffs are going to be really heated. It's in the second season that the biggest hits are recorded and some of the most clutch drives are engineered. Are you ready for December Football?
